First director of the JSC Tupolev and Rector of KNRTU-KAI signed the agreement
On May 30, an agreement on the establishment of Aircraft Engineering Department between Kazan National Research Technical University named after A.N. Tupolev-KAI and Joint Stock Company Tupolev was concluded. The Rais (Head) of the Republic of Tatarstan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC Tupolev Mr. Rustam Minnikhanov and CEO of PJSC United Aircraft Corporation Mr. Yuri Slyusar also took part in this event.
It is expected that students will be trained in the following fields of study: Aircraft Engineering, Aircraft and Helicopter Engineering, Design and Technology Support for Mechanical Facilities. This also means that they are going to undergo internships both at KAI and JSC Tupolev, thus allowing students to be involved in the production process and to acquire practical knowledge and skills.
Moreover, the intensive training program with duration of 3.5 years for the employees of Kazan Aviation Plant with secondary vocational education it is going to be organized.
«KAI has traditionally been a leading provider of highly-qualified human resources for aircraft plants. Almost half of Kazan Aviation Plant officers are KNRTU-KAI graduates, and the number of graduates employed by the company is growing every year. In this case it is even more important that the higher educational program for our employees has been established», noted Mr. Slyusar, CEO of PJSC UAC.
«The signing of this agreement is a significant event. At the new established department, the high-level versatile engineering specialists, who are able to work in field of production, design and research, will be trained. The availability of special facilities will allow future aircraft industry experts to strengthen the practical aspect of the educational process, consolidate and develop professional skills», outlined the managing director of JSC Tupolev Mr. Vadim Korolev.
